Introducing the Seattle Map from These are Things!

imageBack in October 2011, I helped as an area adviser on the latest city map of Seattle for print studio These are Things. They were so kind to send a sample lithograph and it is finally framed and hung, which you can see above. Here is a much lovelier close-up of the print itself:

I love the colors of the map: taupe, red and blue, as well as the clever way that the designers have incorporated city streets and the relative “cool” factor of neighborhood names (bigger text = more popular/trendy). The folks behind These are Things, Jen Adrion and Omar Noory, are based in Columbus, Ohio, so they relied on myself and a few others to help them get a better sense of how we live and hang out in the city. So what do you think, Seattleites? Did we get things right or would you have done things differently? And for all you Localists, where do you most want to visit when you come to Seattle? Georgetown, perhaps?
